David Beckham's Unwelcoming

David Beckham returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night to play his first game in front of Galaxy fans since he abandoned the team for AC Milan after last season, stated his desire to remain with Milan, investigated what it might take to put a premature end to his MLS/Galaxy contract, responded pointedly to critical comments from Galaxy forward and teammate Landon Donovan in a just-released book by Grant Wahl and further stated his interest to return to Milan in January. Fans don't forget, apparently, especially the most ardent ones. It had been widely known and even reported by Yahoo's Josh Peter that one of the team's supporters club was none too pleased with Becks' antics and was clearly going to let him know the next time he set foot in the Home Depot Center. That time was Sunday and wouldn't you know it, AC Milan was the opponent in a friendly. At halftime, Beckham apparently got into it with a "fan" on his way to the locker room. After Beckham assisted on a second-half goal while taking a corner kick right below some of the most vocal dissenters, he turned toward them as if to say, "What do you think now!?!?!" It's going to be an interesting rest of the summer.
