Lakers Championship Post-Mortem

A day later, victory still felt just as sweet for the Lakers, who returned home after winning the franchise's 15th championship in Orlando on Sunday night. Here are some final images:

A water cannon welcomes the team's charter jet at LAX:

Kobe carrying his MVP trophy:

Derek Fisher carrying the championship trophy:

Lamar Odom on the plane enjoying himself with the trophy:

These athletes will have you believe they never read the papers or listen to sports-talk radio. I beg to differ:

I thought it was illegal to talk on your cellphone during a flight. Maybe this was after they landed. I hope so for your sake Phil Jackson -- potential law breaker:

Trevor Ariza and Kobe chat during the flight back. I sure hope they bring back Trevor this off-season:

A fairy-tale ending as Kobe, Vanessa and the MVP trophy drive off into the ... (well not sunset quite yet; maybe haze or June gloom?)

Kobe and his family after Sunday night's victory:

And I wouldn't be honest if I ignored the thugs and criminals who had to sour an otherwise wonderful ending to a season. I bring you the assholian element of Los Angeles life. We're not all like this so please don't these ass clowns be representative of this great city. I don't get this behavior and never will:

And this is the result. This is a store owner who had his business looted because of a few fuckheads. Bleedin' Christ almighty:

I am VERY proud to be a fan of our wonderful Los Angeles sports teams. I don't think I will ever stop loving the Dodgers and Lakers, and I will always support all of the rest of the local teams.

However, I am NOT proud whatsoever to be a Los Angeles sports fan. It is very disheartening to be a part of the fan base that includes all the thugs, cholos, trash, and utterly f**king idiots that become the face of the Los Angeles sports fan crowd when shown in the media.

I'm not a big supporter of police brutality, but I am sure I could have bent a little if the LAPD had cracked at least a few heads open last night!!
