Remember Blu Blockers?
Creatures of late nate television (or "telly-vision" as Bruce Springsteen likes to say when he introduces the Mighty Max Weinberg) might remember this, and frankly, I'm really not sure why it occured to me right now. But does anyone remember those informercials for Blu Blockers sunglasses? You know you do. And remember the idiot rapper with the oversized Mariachi hat who actually rhymes his way through what's supposed to pass for an endorsement? Well, here's the commercial below. Not sure if this was a national thing or only in L.A. These nasty glasses still actually exist. But some people really seem to love them, which is fine. Anyway, enjoy:

Remember, Jim, they are fun and a great value
I like how he rhymes "land" and "land" :
" . . . out in TV land; they're sweeping the land"
Speaking of crappy rhymes; Madonna pulled that same nonsense with Vogue:
Don't just stand there let's get to it.
Strike a pose there's nothing to it.
